Technical Support Services
 |
Digicomp Research has been providing
high-quality technical support services to major corporations
and the government for over 20 years. |
 |
The company provides services in the areas
of system engineering, software development, and verification
& test and IT support, to meet the varying labor and cost
requirements of its clients. |
 |
Digicomp Research provides these services
both on-site at the customer's location or at its own facility
depending on the customer requirements and needs. |
 |
Over the years Digicomp Research has
developed proven techniques for the recruitment and retention of
high-quality technical personnel. The company provides an outstanding environment and
benefits for its support services staff. |
 |
Digicomp Research is sensitive not only to
the technical requirements of its clients but also cost. It continually strives to keep its overhead and fees to a
minimum, passing this cost savings to its clients in the form of
a lower total cost for support services. |

Software Engineering
 | Digicomp designs and builds systems using modular, easy-to-use
software. |
 | Digicomp has twenty years experience building the data processing
and control subsystems for command and control networks and provides
through-life support for these systems. |
 | Digicomp's software is currently operational in 12 countries. |
 | Digicomp's development process is tailored to the specifics of our
development environment: each of our software engineers is both a
developer and an analyst, allowing us to divide system development
vertically instead of horizontally. |
 | We've broken away from the standard model of top-level analysts
handing their results to middle-level designers, who in turn hand
their results to coders. Specialists often lose sight of the
requirements of other parts of the system. In our model, each
developer is responsible for all levels of a piece of software's
development -- from the requirements definition, to coding, through
integration testing. |
 | A wider base of knowledge makes this type of division work.
Immersed in every part of the system, the development team members
have the ability to create a system that is automatically
integrateable. |

Tool
Development
 | We've successfully used our components across application domains
in such diverse applications as an embedded avionics system
executing on Motorola microprocessors and a naval ELINT system
executing on Hewlett-Packard 743i processors. |
 | We are also using portions of the software in an air defense
program for Lockheed Martin Tactical Systems in Eagan, MN. |
 | Our components have repeatedly proven that the investment in
building such components repays itself by 1) permitting their use
across a range of implementations and 2) the ease of modifying and
adding features to the system. One example is the extensive set of
precise coordinate system operations supported by our Range Space
software package. One such operation calculates the displacement
between two surface locations expressed in latitude and longitude,
along a geodesic on the WGS84 ellipsoid, with an error of less than
one millimeter across continental distances. |
 | Other components provide fast, generalized object storage and
retrieval facilities that can be used with new algorithms and rich
object association mappings. This flexibility will allow us to
efficiently add algorithmic components and to then experiment with
customer derived requirements. |
