Capabilities
Digicomp has a track record of developing and
bringing systems to market that are used commercially as well as
those fielded by the military. Digicomp is the developer of the Air
Surveillance and Control System (ASAC), a system with a rich set of
functions for use in air surveillance, ground control intercept, and
area control operations. The Air Surveillance and Control System
were originally developed in the 1990s and continue to provide a
rich set of functions for use in air surveillance, ground control
intercepts, and area control operations. The ASAC is a Command and
Control (C2) system with an open architecture; it is a fully
distributed system that has resulted in operational systems now
fielded at 11 locations in the US, Puerto Rico and Canada, where the
system has been proven to be powerful, reliable, robust, and
flexible. We have built a commercial product based on widely used
commercial hardware, open standards, and commercial third‐party
software. Our base system is a comprehensive set of reusable
components, documentation, and support tools that can be combined
and extended to generate new systems, add new functions to existing
ones, or provide a scaled down version for uses such as mobile air
picture displays.
We've successfully reused our software components
across application domains in such diverse applications as an
embedded avionics system executing on Motorola microprocessors and a
naval ELINT system executing on Hewlett-Packard 743i processors.
We are also using portions of the software in an air defense program
for Lockheed Martin Tactical Systems in Eagan, MN. Our components
have repeatedly proven that the investment in building such
components repays itself by 1) permitting their use across a range
of implementations and 2) the ease of modifying and adding features
to the system.
