Air Surveillance and Control

Overview

The ASAC system is used for:

Air-to-Air Combat Ground Control Intercepts
Weapons Evaluation Operational Safety
Airspace Monitoring
Drug Interdiction
Incident Investigation
Missile Launch Safety
Air Weapons/Air Traffic Control Training

It provides an integrated air picture based  on data from all available sensors. The ASAC has proven to be powerful, reliable, robust and flexible. It has a rich set of functions and a distributed, open architecture. It is built on widely used commercial hardware, open standards, commercial third-party software, and our distributed, proven system. The base system is a comprehensive set of reusable components, documentation and support tools that can be combined and extended to generate new systems, add new functions to existing ones, or provide a scaled down version for uses such as mobile air picture displays.

The ASAC is easily configured to meet the needs of the users. It is a highly reliable system with a low cost of ownership and is available on wide range of hardware and displays based on the customers needs.

Details

TCP interprocess communication allows mixed CPU architectures and hardware.
Industry-standard interfaces assure graceful, cost effective evolution.
Multiprocessor distributed architecture allows unlimited number of radars.
Sensor fusion at the track level integrates into a single, complete air picture.
Accepts data in:
TSPI
AP/TM
Multi-lateration
proprietary formats
On-board navigation systems
TADIL-J
CD-2
Distributed Interactive Simulation
TPS (9bit)
IFDT

OM/MIG Emulation

The system exploits current-generation tools and hardware to provide accuracy, functionality, and maintainability as well as high performance.
Provides recording and playback of both raw sensor data and the complete air picture at speeds from freeze-frame to many times real-time.
Recalculates stern and cut off intercept solutions each second to ensure correct, up-to-date commands.
Uses full WGS-84 geodetic coordinates for all operations.
Extremely accurate coordinate system operations exploit full accuracy of sensors.
